About the event
slowdanger’s ‘SPI’ is 2-hour explorational movement experience accompanied by an evolving sound score guided by slowdanger's taylor knight and anna thompson. Inspired by their studies in somatic practices, BodyMindCentering, Laban Movement Analysis, Movement Theater, Corporeal Mime, improvisational and compositional studies, slowdanger guides participants to investigate non-verbal processing mechanisms through movement, groove, and sensory stimulus. It encourages and challenges participants to explore connections to body, sound, and their environment. These connections are used to play, investigate, and regenerate.
SPI is an open-level workshop, no prior experience in dance is required. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a FULL water bottle!
Please notify us of any access needs via email (slowdangerslowdanger@gmail.com) and be aware that the Space Upstairs is not ADA accessible (up two flights of stairs and does not have access to an elevator).
Presales are encouraged, walk-ins will be accepted with payment by cash or venmo.
