REBEL BODIES
in development
premiering in 2026
REBEL BODIES is a new collaborative work by multidisciplinary artists KM Taavitsainen (FIN), Anna Thompson (US) and Taylor Knight (US) / of slowdanger. This multidisciplinary and international collaboration centers an eco-somatic sound approach through the processing of field recordings from Pirunvaara (FIN) and later Allegheny National Forest (US). Their embodied sound practices activate interspecies and environmental empathy through a queer world building process enmeshing movement, projection, sound and material research. In awareness of our current environmental crises, REBEL BODIES engages radical imagination as a portal to witnessing how our bodies, environment, and communal interactions are inextricably intertwined.

The project is set to premie in 2026 at the Ärjä Festival in Kajanni, Finland, facilitated by Vaara-kollektiivi.
REBEL BODIES is supported by the Kone Foundation, SKR Kainuu Fund, Vaara collective & Routa Company. Special thanks to KORPIQUEER collective & inter- gallery (Pittsburgh US)
